rth Shore Arts Association will offer teen workshops for 13 to 18 year olds in July and August, 2010. Students may sign up for any number of workshops they choose but it is recommended that they take both workshops with one instructor, as the lesson will be completed on the second day. All teen workshops will meet at NSAA or outdoors on location. Teen workshops are $15/day.

Instructor: David Curtis
Outdoors - Harborscape
David P. Curtis will instruct plein air (outdoor) landscape classes using oil paints for experienced teen aged artists. The class will begin with a short on-site demonstration on the principles of painting outdoors. Emphasis will be placed on composition and tonal values. After the demonstration, students will find their own subject and begin laying in their composition. Curtis will circulate to give individual instruction to each student.

Indoors - Portrait
Mark Hayden will conduct portrait workshops concentrating on concept, drawing, values, color and texture. The students may use any medium.
August 3, 10

Instructor: Ken Knowles
Outdoors - Harborscape
Ken Knowles will instruct plein air (outdoor) landscape oil painting classes. Concentration will be on composition and tonal values. After a short demonstration, Ken will circulate to give individual instruction to each student.

A supply list will be sent to each student upon registration (Some supplies will be provided by NSAA)
